How To Find A Reformer Pilates Studio That Works For You

27.04.22 by Thomas Millar

Once you understand the benefits of reformer Pilates, you’ll want to try it out for yourself. That’s when you need to find a reformer Pilates studio that works for you. Every reformer Pilates company does things a little differently, so you may need to visit different studios to find the one that suits you best.

What Will Your Classes Involve?

It is important that you physically benefit from reformer Pilates classes, but it is also vital that you enjoy doing them. We vary the exercises for every workout as we know that, with variety, you will enjoy your classes more – doing the same routine in every session can get boring over time. Our classes are therefore a carefully curated mixture of reformer Pilates exercises, where no two classes are the same. Even if you attend a regular session every week, everyone will be different, so you’ll be working on a wide variety of exercises that will benefit your fitness, core strength and posture.

How Many People Will Be In Each Class?

Our reformer Pilates classes are limited by the number of reformer beds there are available. Our studios have between 9 and 13 beds, which means your instructor will have plenty of time to focus on you to ensure you are benefiting from your reformer Pilates workout.

How Much Experience Do You Need?

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a complete beginner or have plenty of experience, you will be able to adapt the reformer bed to suit your level of fitness. Each bed comes with a number of springs, and before every exercise, your instructor will tell you which springs to use for a standard workout and which springs to use to make things more of a challenge. You will be instructed on elements you can add to each exercise to push yourself a bit more. But don’t worry, you don’t have to do them – you do what works best for you.

What Qualifications Do The Instructors Have?

All our instructors are highly qualified. We only hire instructors who are qualified and experienced personal trainers, sports therapists or sports massage therapists. They also undertake an intensive eight-week training programme at our own Instructor Academy. Instructors learn how to teach each Pilates exercise, as well as get a good understanding of the specific benefits and how each movement affects the body. They also learn more about the latest research in physiology and exercise science, as well as exercise psychology and motivation techniques. When your instructor has such an in-depth understanding of how the body works, you know you’re in safe hands.

What Else Can Your Reformer Pilates Studio Do For You?

As all our instructors have different qualifications and experience, we are able to offer a number of additional services. These include 1-on-1 reformer Pilates and mat-based Pilates, as well as personal training, sports massage and musculoskeletal therapy.

Do You Have To Become A Member At A Specific Studio?

Chilli Pilates has a number of studios in Hertfordshire and North London. As a member, you can book a class at any of our studios at the time that works best for you. We understand that you probably won’t want to commit straight away, so you can try a reformer Pilates class with our £10 promotion – you can even bring a friend with you for free.
