Resistance Training is Key

9.05.18 by Kendell Allen

Why is resistance training good for me?

There are many forms of resistance training, ranging from bodyweight, free weight, machine weight and many other forms. Resistance training will build the size of skeletal muscle, the anaerobic system and muscle fibre. A well organised and set resistance program for an individual will help to improve bone, joint function, bone density, muscle, tendon and ligament strength, as well as improve your cardiovascular system. Worldwide government health guideline recommended adults should be doing some form of resistance training up to three times a week.

Will I lose weight doing resistance training?

The simple answer is YES. Resistance training combined with cardiovascular training and a lower calorie deficient diet is guaranteed to help an individual with their weight loss goal. Resistance training will develop lean muscle and lean muscle is key to increase an individual’s metabolic rate. Research has shown an individual with more lean muscle will burn more calories even at rest compared to an individual with a lower muscle mass percentage.

In a nutshell resistance exercise is key in improving mental and also physical health. So, are you ready to see the best version of yourself? Let get started now rather than later!
